Functions

The usage of the system allows you to solve the tasks of long-term and operational planning of the production of timber and control of the finished production. In CSOP, the following main functions are carried out, considering the industrial features and limitations:

    • The calculation of the sawing patterns;
    • The composition of the optimal volumetric plan, providing the fulfillment of given specification of timber from the existing or expected raw materials. The optimality of the plan is understood as maximuly possible economy of wood or maximum income from the sale of timber;
    • The work planning of the several sawmilling lines;
    • The calendar planning of the coordinated work of the sawmilling department, drying chambers and the department of gouging on the specified period (for example, week or month);
    • The formation of the various industrial and economic reporting documents;

During the implementation of the system, the following features and industrial limitations are taken into account:

    • The limited amount of the blades of the first and second rows for sawmilling lines;
    • The fixed cutting depth for each sawmilling line (mm);
    • The dependence of the maximum diameter of the log, which can be sawn on this sawmilling line, on maximum height of the cut and maximum width of a sawing pattern;
    • The productivity of the sawmilling line per shift, depending on the diameter and length of the logs;
    • The minimum width of two-edged cant (it is own for each diameter of the log, i.e., when you choose a smaller width, there can be a high percentage of defects);
    • The maximum amount of different timber in the sawing pattern;
    • The maximum amount of different thicknesses of the side timber;
    • The maximum width of timber in the side part;
    • The maximum width of the side part of first and second passes;
    • The minimum width of the central part;
    • The maximum amount of the side boards;
    • The existing volume of wood of each type at the store (or planned);
    • The minimum volume of release by each sawing pattern, i.e., each changeover of the equipment leads to the unproductive losses of time;
    • The minimum percentage of the outcome of basic timber.

The system also provides the following requirements, parameters and restrictions on the composition of raw materials and orders:

    • The minimum and maximum volumes of products of each type;
    • The minimum and maximum lengths of timber, and gradation by lengths (for example, when the length is from 2.7 m to 6 m and step is 0.3 m, the board with length of 3.5 m should be cut to 3.3 m which reduces the effective outcome);
    • The moisture of the production after drying;
    • The priority of the order for the determination of the sequence of fulfillment of the requirements by volumes;
    • The requirements on the location of the boards in the sawing pattern in the relation to the longitudinal axis of the log:

        • In the basic part of the log, in this case timber can be cut just from the two-edged cant;
        • In the basic part of the log, in this case timber should be located so that it is cut during the first pass;
        • In the core of the log. This means that particular timber can be placed just in the center of the log in a single quantity;
        • 2 Ex-Log, i.e., just in the core of the log and in the amount of 2 items (withouth central board) and, also, 4 Ex-Log (the same, but 4 boards)
        • 2 Ex-Log not side, i.e., just in the core of the log and in the amount of 2 items. Moreover, there are supposed to be some other timber in this sawing pattern;
        • 3 Ex-Log, i.e., just in the core of the log and in the amount of 3 items (1 central board and 2 side boards), also 5 Ex Log (the same, expcept 5 boards);
        • 2,4,6 Ex-Log, i.e., just in the core of the log and widthout central board;
        • 3,4,5,6 Ex-Log, i.e., supposed to be no less than 3 central boards.

The system provides the following requirements and technological features for the creation of a plan:

    • Work schedule of the equipment – the three shifted sawmilling with weekends, the chart of the load/unload of the drying chambers;
    • The existence of raw materials and the expected deliveries;
    • At least one identical timber should be beween two of the sawing pattern going in the row;
    • Sawmilling should be going with as low as possible alternation of the wood type;
    • It is necessary that you load the chamber with one timber, then with "unimportant for drying" timber, futher with timber which relate to the same group of drying.

The system can be modified for taking into account some other requirements, parameters, etc.
